Peer Networks…What's all that about?

Peer Networks is a peer-to-peer networking programme for SMEs that is delivered locally by the network of Growth Hubs across England. It aims to bring together diverse cohort groups of individuals in a range of business sectors to collaboratively work through common business issues . Through interactive action learning, you are able to discuss your own challenges, gain and reflect on valuable feedback and implement practical solutions to overcome them.

What is a Peer Network?

Peer Networks enables you to make connections that go far beyond networking. By taking part in Peer Networks, you have the opportunity to:

How does a Peer Network benefit me?

Businesses that seek external advice or undertake formal training are more likely to improve their overall  performance. Many people prefer to take advice from trusted sources, such as their peers, when presented with external challenges and opportunities.

Using Action Learning, programme gives you the chance to share business challenges in a supportive and inspiring environment and benefit from insight and experience from other business owners who are or have been in a similar position. You can work collectively and collaboratively to find solutions to different issues or scenarios.

How does a peer Network benefit my business?

Peer Networks provides a free programme of business support to allow you as a business leader to explore challenges and find solutions to growing your business. The service brings together small groups of to work together on their specific business issues, supports personal development, dedicates time to your business and grows your professional network.

What is a High Growth Peer Network?

A high growth Peer Network focuses on SMEs with the potential for rapid growth. Often tech companies but not always, the Scale Up Institute defines them as businesses which grow at 20% per annum in either turnover or jobs growth for 3 years and typically which start from a base Turnover of £1m.

About Peer Networks with D2N2 Growth Hub

Delivered through a series of virtual high impact group sessions, guided by an expert facilitator, you will be given the flexibility to create a trusted support network that works for you, helping you to build and strengthen your business and improve its overall performance.

In groups of up to 11 people, you will take part in 6 x three hour sessions and have access to an additional 3.5 hours of 1-2-1 mentoring support. The programme includes:

  • Interactive Action Learning
    The opportunity to overcome real-life problems by enquiring and reflecting before developing tangible actions and solutions

  • Trained Facilitators
    Every session is supported by a trained facilitator to ensure consistency, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Small Cohorts
    Small participant groups to ensure that every member of the cohort can share their challenges, problems and opportunities.

  • Flexible Topic Selection
    The topics of discussion are decided by the participants, enabling you to focus on your own challenges while taking learnings from other group members.

  • One to One Support
    In addition to the group session, you will have access to one to one support matched to your specific needs, building on your learning experience.

How do I join the High Growth Peer Network?

To become part of the D2N2 Growth Hub High Growth Peer Network in conjunction with the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, you need to be an SME business that has:

  • Operated for at least one year

  • At least five employees

  • A turnover of at least £100,000

  • An aspiration to improve

  • The potential to scale up or export or is exporting already.
